I can’t remember how many times I’ve walked in Ashland State Park, but I never get tired of it. It’s always beautiful in different ways. I like to observe the changes in the sky; it’s never the same. The ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi once said, “tiandi you da mei er bu yan (天地有大美而不言,” which translates to “the universe has great beauty, but never speaks of it.” Nature is beautiful, but it never shows off, if that makes sense to you.
In the summer evening, the sunset in the park is incredibly beautiful. The sky resembles the final climax of a symphony, with countless colors and clouds that leave people feeling dizzy and awestruck.
This oil painting shows one of the millions of breathtaking moments. I tried to capture that moment.
